This is very realistic.  You're the first person on Deviantart that I've seen that remembered the rayleigh effect is reversed on Mars, turning the sky around the sunset blue, and the rest of it reddish.

thanks, I've got some tips from cool people from Mars Society, that was a tip from them besides, other details, like the moons on the right, they didn't approve the humans, because of the scale, but I had to put them :D

I wrote a piece of music called "Valles Marineris" and would like to use this on the front cover of the score - let me know if thats OK.

Hey Grafik,

First - this an absolutely beautiful piece of work. I don't usually post on art as I'm only on deviant art to support my girlfriends work, but this deserved a post! Also, I wanted to inform you - and I hope it is quite alright - that I used this image in an article I wrote ( regarding the "Curiosity" Rover on Mars. The article is currently in the editing phase and so I cannot give the direct link just yet, but I've included the source (you). I hope this is alright though if not I totally understand and will (reluctantly as it's so beautiful) remove the image from the piece. I can give you the link if you like when it is up sometime tomorrow.

Thanks for such an astounding piece once again,
- Alex

Nice painting but to shallow for it to be Valles Marineris.
Considering that at some points it's 200 km wide and up to 7 km deep.

Just saying but still good painting.
